About Us

Strafford Learning Center is a private, non-profit organization incorporated in 1973. The Board of Directors and staff are committed to offering high quality special education and related supports to 1,000 students in over thirty school districts throughout the region.

Strafford Learning Center has ten “members” consisting of the following School Administrative Units and serving their respective school districts: SAU 5 (Oyster River); SAU 11 (Dover); SAU 44 (Northwood, Nottingham, Strafford); SAU 56 (Somersworth); SAU 61 (Farmington); SAU 64 (Milton); SAU 69 (Middleton); SAU 74 (Barrington); SAU 101 (Wakefield) and SAU 104 (Rollinsford).  These “members” share governance of the organization.

The mission statement of Strafford Learning Center is:

Through dynamic collaboration, Strafford Learning Center is responsive to the evolving needs of school districts, studentsand families. Our community of dedicated professionals is committed to supporting all learners in reaching their highest potential.

To accomplish this mission, Strafford Learning Center has a diverse professional staff working in tandem with area school districts and partners.
