SPEECH/LANGUAGE PATHOLOGY SERVICES
|
|
|
|
The licensed Speech-Language Pathologists and certified Speech-Language Specialists of Strafford Learning Center not only provide services within our own programs, but also extend their experience to local schools within our member and non-member districts.
|
|
|
These services include assessment of speech, language, voice, and fluency as well as providing direct intervention and consultation with school staff and parents.
|
|
|
Depending on the needs of the student, various specific intervention models are used. The speech-langauge professional may use one or a combination of the following service delivery systems:
|

 Classroom-based intervention with either a selected student or the entire class
Team-teaching with the regular classroom teacher or special education staff
One-to-one or small group intervention
Consultation with other service providers
|

|
Our speech-language staff is available to offer consultation and training to other professionals on specialized topics (e.g., assessment, autism, AAC, etc.).
|
|
|
Strafford Learning Center also maintains a library of current assessment tools and resource materials.
