PHYSICAL THERAPY SERVICES
Our Physical Therapists and Physical Therapy Assistants provide direct and indirect consultative services to a wide range of students within our agency programs, as well as students in member and non-member school districts throughout the southeast region of New Hampshire.
As related service providers, our purpose is to ensure that the students we serve are able to physically access and participate in their educational environment.
We collaborate with families, teachers, paraprofessionals, other related service providers, and members of the medical community to promote each student's progress in their functional independence in mobility at school. This may include the assessment of, and recommendation for, assistive devices such as: orthotics, wheelchairs, walkers and positioning devices in order to meet the student's individual needs for positioning and mobility at school.
Physical Therapists serve as a dynamic link between the educational team, families, and the medical community, including collaboration with agencies such as the Bureau of Medical Services Neuromotor Clinic for continuity of care between home and school.
Some of the educationally-related services we provide are:
Evaluation of large (gross) motor and functional mobility skills using a variety of standardized and competency based assessments.
Individual therapy and consultation services for identified students.
Consultation and collaboration within educational teams regarding assistive technology and adaptive equipment for positioning and safe mobility in the educational environment.
Assessment of school environments for safety and accessibility of students with physical mobility challenges.
Assistance in coordinating community medical services as they relate to a student's individual needs for positioning and safe mobility at school
In-service education on a variety of topics that relate to the educational setting such as: the nature of mobility-limiting medical diagnoses, the potential impact of a diagnoses on a student's endurance , safety and mobility in the school setting, and the purpose of positioning and mobility devices in the educational setting in order to enhance learning.

We are a group of dedicated team members who are committed to providing our students with effective and appropriate interventions within a collaborative relationship with their families, educational teams and the medical community.
