BEHAVIORAL CONSULTATION SERVICES

Students with behavior problems and social skills deficits can present a most difficult and challenging job to teachers and administrators. In such situations, there may be an urgent need for practical solutions that work for specific students. We offer in-school consultation services to provide school staff with strategies designed to reduce problem behaviors while increasing pro-social skills.

Strafford Learning Center provides consultation services for individual students, specialized classroom settings or school-wide behavior initiatives. Our consultants are familiar with strategies used for system-wide or inidividual positive behavioral interventions and supports.
|
|
|
Students referred for consultation may be of any age, and may or may not be identified as needing special education services. After an initial observation, record review, and interviews with school staff, our experienced team offers collaboration to develop appropriate plans to fit specific situational needs. These plans may include individual interventions targeted to a specific student's emotional and academic needs, the re-design of an existing program, and/or school -wide measures to implement a program where none exists. Functional behavior assessments may be requested as well.
